Art and game: the chess as a showcase of Coloniality

Abstract

The Philosophy of Liberation and the Decolonial Theory have made a fundamental contribution to thinking about our current situation, and to a large extent, the intellectuals dedicated to this conceptual territory have offered critical impressions on the development of capitalist modernity / coloniality. The disciplines that have found an echo for the analytical treatment are diverse and the themes revolve around broad sectors of community life: the question of gender / sex, raciality, control over the workforce, etc. Recognizing the fundamental contribution of these insights, I try to open the decolonial panorama towards the artistic and playful aspect of chess, whose historical narrative can be seen as a showcase of coloniality, e. e., as a significant sample of the colonial mark in the history of the World-System.
