The risk of knowing: between Oedipus and the Sphink. On the implications of university autonomy within the framework of the 60 years of university autonomy of the Benemérita Universidad Autónoma de Puebla

Abstract

The University is an institution that protects and administers the different knowledge, it is in it where the teachers, those who know, instruct all those students eager to learn, those who do not know. At the beginning we said that talking about university autonomy is talking about freedom and education, however, with what has been said now, talking about the university is talking about both education and knowledge. But what are we talking about when we talk about knowledge? Certainly something solemn. If there is an entire institution dedicated to the training of those who do not know, it is because knowledge is of the utmost importance for culture, which evokes the following question: what is that importance?
