The most complicated critical response to disciplinary fragmentation. A characterization of transdisciplinarity

Abstract

This text delves into the characteristics of transdisciplinary in order to show the importance of transdisciplinary efforts and the need for the existence of such efforts, but at the same time, the extreme difficulty of transdiscipline is raised, which must to be sought out once interdiscipline is the norm and not the exception. First, an academic context is presented in tension between the fragmentation of knowledge and a more holistic vision regarding it. Subsequently, the characteristics of transdiscipline are addressed and finally, some necessary characteristics are recommended for the opening to transdisciplinarity.
