About the Journal

Analéctica is a bimonthly academic journal dedicated to promoting the production of philosophical thought with a decolonial and critical orientation. Based in Buenos Aires, Argentina, and jointly published by the Red de Esfuerzos para el Desarrollo Social Local, A.C. (Mexico) and Arkho Ediciones (Argentina), the journal has established itself as a plural and rigorous platform for philosophical and social reflection from Latin America to the world.

Its editorial focus is grounded in the conviction that philosophy is not an isolated discipline, but a living practice of critical questioning that must engage with the historical, social, and political realities of Latin American peoples. Since its founding, Analéctica has sought to push the boundaries of conventional academic thought, inviting readers and authors to think from the Global South, from the peripheries, and from experiences that the Western canon has often excluded.

Each issue gathers original and unpublished articles addressing contemporary problems in philosophy, history, sociology, politics, and aesthetics—united by the same purpose: a reflective exercise that bridges theory and praxis. All submissions undergo a double-blind peer review process in which at least two members of the Editorial Committee (or three, in case of tie) evaluate the originality, relevance, and academic quality of each manuscript.

Faithful to its commitment to the free dissemination of knowledge, Analéctica operates under an open-access policy: all its content is freely available online without restrictions. Authors pay no fees for submission, review, or publication (no APCs), and they retain full rights over their work, which is published under a Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 International License (CC BY 4.0).

This license allows reproduction, distribution, and adaptation of published material, provided the original source is properly cited. Authors are also encouraged to self-archive their work in personal, institutional, or thematic repositories, fostering a culture of open knowledge exchange.

Analéctica adheres to a strict code of ethics that emphasizes academic integrity, impartial review, and confidentiality throughout the editorial process. The journal employs anti-plagiarism screening and follows international standards of ethical publication, ensuring the originality and credibility of each article.

The editorial structure includes both a Managing Board and an International Editorial Committee, composed of established scholars and emerging researchers, thus ensuring generational and thematic diversity in the treatment of philosophical and social issues.

To ensure the long-term preservation of its content, Analéctica uses digital preservation systems such as LOCKSS and CLOCKSS, as well as durable formats like PDF/A and XML.

The journal holds the electronic ISSN 2591-5894 and is indexed in Latindex, LatinRev, AmeliCA, OpenAIRE, Google Scholar, CONICET, and other academic repositories. These inclusions enhance its global reach and consolidate its recognition within the fields of philosophy and the social sciences.

Active since at least 2013, Analéctica has sustained its editorial activity through the voluntary and collective work of its academic community. The journal receives no public or private funding; instead, it operates through the commitment of researchers, reviewers, and editors who believe in maintaining an open, horizontal, and collaborative space for critical thought.

The journal publishes in both Spanish and English, promoting international collaboration and dialogue among scholars from Latin America, Europe, and beyond.

For readers, Analéctica offers a meeting ground between philosophy, politics, history, and social critique—where ideas engage directly with the contemporary challenges of Latin America. For authors, it provides a rigorous, inclusive, and accessible academic platform with reasonable evaluation times (typically one to two months) and close editorial guidance throughout the review process. For reviewers, it represents a community of thought committed to ethical evaluation, academic cooperation, and the advancement of open knowledge.

Analéctica views editorial ethics as an act of collective responsibility and a commitment to truth, justice, and the openness of knowledge. Guided by the principles of the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE) and the Singapore Statement on Research Integrity, the journal promotes intellectual honesty, originality, and respectful dialogue among authors, reviewers, and editors.
