María de Jesús Patricio Martínez: worthy spokerperson for our indigenous communities in Mexico
Abstract
In this context, Marichuy emerges, a presidential candidate elected by the National Indigenous Congress and backed by the Zapatista Army of National Liberation (EZLN) to mark the pulse and transmit the ideals of our native peoples. Faced with a historical moment of this nature, indigenous communities gain strength as social and political subjects by impetuously participating in the public life of the country and thus having the opportunity to decide their future. With Marichuy, new paradigmatic nuances are announced that are discordant with the world economic system and very little harmonious with the establishment that has deeply sullied our nation.
