Tijuana. The city of non-speech
Abstract
Tijuana is a city that, historically, does not exist: it was never founded. The date of its date is derived from a decision taken from the examination of a document that represents a plan where a town named Zaragoza is drawn "to be built on the Tijuana ranch." The author of the same was an engineer named Ricardo Orozco, who in turn was hired by the descendants of Santiago Argüello Moraga, who received in concession the property of the Tijuana ranch, in 1829, which before that year was administered by the Franciscan Mission of San Diego de Alcalá. The Argüello family thought themselves the owners of the property. How do I argue this? In the fact that, when Santiago died intestate and when his widow, Pilar Ortega, children, grandchildren and sons-in-law also fought for the property. It was a concession from the various governments that Mexico had from 1829. In order to end the land disputes, they decided to hire Orozco, divide the land and commercialize it to share the profits.
