Student Gerardo Montes. Life story, thirst for justice and educational inclusion
Abstract
The present work is based on the life story of Gerardo Montes. It is intended to serve as a tribute to the recently deceased young man. But even more to reflect from his history his vocational searches as an educator and musician. From all its facets, rescue its incessant transforming spirit and its critical view of institutions. Different chronicles and works of Gerardo are taken as sources. In particular, it is rehearsed on his search and reflection on his vocation as an educator and his musical journey through the Popular School of Music / Popular Music Technique project. The starting point is Gera's look of rebellion (Freire, 2012) as a starting point to propose institutional strategies for transformation, change and inclusion.
