Latin American rock as anticolonial ethics

Abstract

Rock intertwines different notes and sounds, voices and a lyric; it is, since its inception, polyphonic, multifaceted and definitely polysemic. You can find a fun side, almost playful, characterized by generating euphoric atmospheres that encourage you to move the body to the beat of the melodies, repeating or inventing steps, it can also drive crowds to sing all at once, or it can simply seduce the eavesdroppers. On the other hand, it shows elements that give identity and meaning to the lives of many individuals, as part of their personal traits, being a standard and distinctive feature, uniting many in a family in which they were not born; It brought with it a whole new way of living, living and being socially, including dances, hairstyles, readings, attitudes, styles of speaking and acting: thus, it created the figure of the rocker.
