Abstract

After the Second World War, a period called "Cold War" would arrive. Characterized by the dual polarization of the world, ideologies would determine the course of international relations and, therefore, of the planet. Two hegemonic blocs were rising rapidly: the capitalist bloc led by the United States and the socialist bloc led by the Soviet Union. In accordance with their ideals and interests, the other countries had to align themselves with one of the two powers. In the same way, these two leading countries were creating alliances, motivating the nations to join the cause and acquiring more and more supporters.
