New configurations for the management of Archaeological Heritage Landscapes in Mexico. The case of the Huapalcalco Archaeological Zone in Tulancingo, State of Hidalgo
Abstract
This article explores elements to consider new approaches about management of Archaeological Heritage Landscapes of Mexico. Based on the decolonial approach, we analyzed the management of the Archaeological Site of Huapalcalco (SAH) in Tulancingo, Hidalgo. We also take the vision of Niebla y Tiempo, a Non-Governmental Organization (NGO) that has worked on the value of the site including, among other things, the participation of different actors involved in the preservation of the site. As a result, we proposed elements that could be taken to build new participation and collaboration management models of the SAH as well as for the identity defense of Tulancingo´s otomíes.
