Sustainable development and ecofeminisms

Abstract

Undoubtedly, the challenge of the new ecological movements is to organize their struggles in an intersectional way, understanding that patriarchy, economic domination and destruction of nature are part of a single colonial matrix of power that proposes new theoretical and political challenges. A new politics of representation and experimentation with biophysical environments will have to interpret socio-natural relationships in other ways and also experience them in new ways. Ecofeminism can be just one of the multiple bets. The important thing is to open more and more spaces for the political imagination of ecological alternatives that transcend the hegemonic economist vision of sustainable development.
