The political discourse of democratic quality in Latin America
Abstract
The concept of democracy implies a certain interaction between gaps, this if we consider that for Lefort (1990: 190) the main gap corresponds to power as a place capable of being occupied by the representatives chosen by society but who should not take possession of that privileged position since this would imply a particular use of something that arises from and for the people; while for Rancière (2007: 38) the main void lies precisely in the town, as it is an ambiguous field that is usually monopolized by the ruling class, denying the right to participate and claim the dominated, generating disagreement in the official discourse (or logos), which can then lead to true politics, which consists of the movement that seeks to have their entrance recognized in that empty place.
