Sergio Pérez Cortés: Reason in history. Hegel, Marx, Foucault
Abstract
Sergio Pérez Cortés is a professor and researcher in the philosophy department of the Autonomous Metropolitan University, Iztapalapa unit, doctor of linguistics from the University of Paris X-Nanterre and doctor of philosophy from the University of Paris I-Sorbonne. Distinguished researcher of the work of the French philosopher Michel Foucault, director of the permanent seminar on Hegelian studies at the Autonomous Metropolitan University, in addition to having books on classical studies, Scribes (2006) is also a researcher on the work of the German philosopher Karl Marx, such is the title of one of his books: Karl Marx, an invitation to his work (2010). His latest book The Themes of Modernity (2014) was published by the Gedisa publishing house in collaboration with the UAM. Without a doubt, Pérez Cortés is an axial piece within the philosophical investigations that are carried out in Mexico in the first years of the 21st century.
