Towards a decolonial critique: Max Weber, the Protestant ethic and the spirit of capitalism
Abstract
For those who have lived the learning experience at a higher level in Mexico or in any university of the modern world-system, they accept or deny having submitted to the incorporation of the theories of Eurocentric scientists, presenting themselves as foreign, and passive in order to change, transform or revolutionize the historical-social conditions that oppress us. Such is the case in the learning of Max Weber's theories, especially for his Eurocentric assumptions objectified in his book the Protestant ethic and the spirit of capitalism, although he is not the only one who thinks Eurocentrically, but for now he and his followers we sat on the bench of criticism.
