About the Journal

Analéctica is a bimonthly academic journal devoted to the dissemination of philosophical, critical, and decolonial thought from Latin America. Its purpose is to create a plural space for reflection on ideas, historical processes, and social realities that shape our present. The name of the journal comes from the analectical method developed by Enrique Dussel within the framework of the philosophy of liberation. This method seeks to go beyond dialectics, recognizing the “Other” as an ethical and epistemic starting point. Against the logic that encloses thought within totality, the analectical method proposes a critical dialogue with alterity—an openness to knowledge that emerges from the margins, from peoples and experiences historically excluded. Analéctica embraces this horizon as an invitation to think from the South, to build plural knowledges, and to promote a philosophy committed to liberation and justice.

Published by the Red de Esfuerzos para el Desarrollo Social Local, A.C. (Mexico) and Arkho Ediciones (Argentina), the journal fosters dialogue between philosophy, the social sciences, history, politics, and aesthetics, with particular attention to debates that challenge the dominant structures of knowledge and power. All manuscripts undergo a double-blind peer-review process and are published in open access under a Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 International License (CC BY 4.0). Analéctica charges no submission or publication fees and receives no public or private funding, ensuring full intellectual independence. The journal is indexed in Latindex, LatinRev, AmeliCA, OpenAIRE, CONICET, and Google Scholar, and digitally preserves its content through LOCKSS and CLOCKSS systems. More than a publication, Analéctica is a meeting place for those who seek to think from the South, to build free knowledge, and to transform reality through critique and reflection.
