Abstract

The hindrances of the end of the Cold War and the almost total triumph of capitalism in its neoliberal phase are still being experienced. Anti-communist discourse and anti-Marxism survive in the academies and in public comment. The thought of Marx although it is not known in its depth is caricatured in order to show capitalism as the best possible and reject the idea of ??any alternative. In "Why Marx Was Right" the English cultural critic Terry Eagleton takes ten of the most common criticisms of Marxist thought to refute them. With this, he shows the validity and relevance of Marx's thought and of socialism as a project of transformation.
