The views of transit: the construction of the social figure of the Central American migrants as he passes through San Luis Potosi
Abstract
The starting point of this research is the reflection on the configuration of otherness from a sociological perspective. Considering that population movements have historically transformed societies (Castles, Haas and Miller, 2014), this exploration pays for Migration Studies from the perspective of those who “see them pass” during their transit and attempts to make the construction of these perceptions more complex. Thus, the question that guides the research seeks to define how the social figure of the Central American migrant from Honduras, El Salvador and Guatemala who transits through the city of San Luis Potosí is viewed.
